Gas supply halted to Punjab CNG sector
Supply of gas to CNG sector across Punjab has been closed due to breakdown in Malamzai Gas Field.
LAHORE: Amid worst crisis faced by the industries in Punjab province, now the gas supply to the CNG sector across the Punjab has also been closed following the breakdown in Malamzai Gas Field.
Media reports quoting sources in the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) said, the glitch in Malamzai Gas Field has caused further 75 million cubic feet gas to run out of the system.
The CNG stations in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi regions were scheduled to open from Wednesday; however, the SNGPL announced to close down the gas supply to the CNG stations in these regions owing to the shortage.
The CNG stations will not be opened in other regions of the province as well. According to the SNGPL, the gas supply to the industries and the CNG stations has been stanched to meet the demand of domestic consumers.
