Summary Mercury touched -12 degree centigrade in Kalat as cold weather persists in the country.
Country remained in the grip of severe cold in the past 24 hours and snowfall was also reported from the hilly areas.
The land route connection of Lower Dir was cut off from rest of the country due to heavy snowfall whereas Astour and Babusar remained cut off from Gilgit Baltistan.
Communication system in Thandiyani was disrupted due to heavy snowfall. Lahore and other parts of Punjab remained under cloud cover during the past 24 hours and according to Met office cold wave will persist for the next 24 hours.
Minimum temperature in the country was recorded in Kalat where mercury went down to -12 degree centigrade. Minimum temperature in Quetta was -8, Murree -4, Islamabad and Peshawar 3, Lahore 1 and Karachi 8 degree centigrade.
Meanwhile, Motorway was closed down from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian due to dense fog.
