Summary Chief of the Naval Staff says professional competency is mandatory for progress in the country.

 


KARACHI: Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila has said that the country is passing through a crucial juncture where application of genius minds and professional competence is mandatory.

 

Addressing the Engineering graduates at the 24th convocation of Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) held at Bahria Auditorium here on Friday, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sandila urged upon the graduates to take the country to new heights of progress and prosperity by adopting emerging trends in the fields of science and technology.

 

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila graced the occasion as chief guest and awarded degrees to 202 graduates including 54 Pakistan Navy officers, 08 Saudi and 03 Yemini naval officers and 137 NUST civilian students who were awarded ‘Bachelor’s of Engineering’ (BE) degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering.

 

The Naval Chief highly appreciated the commitment of PNEC to its cause, endeavoring to turn itself into a Centre of Excellence in the field of engineering.

 

He further said that dedicated research work at PNEC in the important areas like Renewable Energy, Thermal Power, Industrial Manufacturing, and Secure Communication etc is a matter of pride and satisfaction.

 

Earlier in his welcome address, Commandant Pakistan Navy Engineering College Rear Admiral Imdad Jafri highlighted salient features of the degree programs at PNEC. He informed that the college is also conducting BS (MIS) through hybrid distance learning which has recently earned the highest category of accreditation from National Computing Education Accreditation Council.

 

Rector NUST Lieutenant General Muhammad Asghar, senior naval officers and parents and relatives of the passing out graduates also attended the ceremony.
