Summary APTMA announces to sack all employees on December 28 if electricity and gas is not restored.

LAHORE: In a press conference on Monday, Central Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Ahsan Bashir, Punjab chapter chairman Shahzad Ali and former chairman Gohar Ijaz said the textile industry has been deprived of both gas and electricity.

They said that there would be no other option but to sack thousands of textile workers if gas and electricity were not restored till December 28, adding government would be responsible for all that.

They said that industries in Punjab were being targeted under a conspiracy.

The APTMA authorities said that the government was trying to save only 1,700 megawatts of electricity consumed by the industries but is not realizing the exports will face a loss of 1 billion dollar per month due to this step.
