CHISHTIAN: Addressing workers’ convention here on Monday Qamar Zaman Kaira said PPP was in position to give befitting reply to propaganda against its government.
“Those who are leveling baseless corruption charges against government must bring proofs before the public,” he said.
Kaira said Benazir Bhutto paved way for Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan.
Lashing out at Sharif Brothers he said the so called champions of ‘Asooli Siassat’ fled away from country after a deal with the dictator, and kept on denying it while sitting in Makka.
“When the facts about their deal with Musharraf came to light, Nawaz admitted that deal was done but only for five years.”
Highlighting the achievements of PPP government he said government faced major natural disasters with courage and brought the country out of economic and constitutional crises.
Rejecting the propaganda by some leaders about the performance of the government Kaira said: “When we came to power there was shortage of wheat, sugar and oil, now we have surplus stocks of these items.”
Nawaz Sharif must tell the nation from where his family got the wealth to set up industries in Saudi Arabia, Kaira added.
He said it was an irony that those who attacked the Supreme Court were now telling others to respect the courts.
“No one has shown more respect to court decisions than the PPP. Our leader was subjected to judicial murder, our PM quitted office respecting the court verdict, and still they say we show no respect to judiciary.
“PPP government has introduced a record number of uplift schemes but we do not sing self-admiring songs like others,” Kaira said.
