Summary Ban on pillion riding in Karachi and riding of motorcycle in Quetta has been lifted after Ashura.
According to details, ban on pillion riding in Karachi has been lifted and Sindh Home Department has issued notification in this regard.
Sindh Additional Chief Secretary Waseem Ahmed said that police have been directed to follow the instructions.
Sindh Home Department had banned pillion riding in Karachi and Khairpur on 10 November due to fear of terrorism during Muharram. Ban on pillion riding in Karachi has been lifted with immediate effect whereas it will be lifted in Khaipur from Thursday.
On the other hand, ban on riding of motorcycle in Quetta has also been lifted. Ban on motorcycle riding on 9th and 10th of Muharram was imposed by Balochistan Home Department. However, ban on pillion riding and display of weapons will continue for two months.
