Summary Interior Minister Rehman Malik says next two days are very sensitive from security point of view.
That is why the government has decided to suspend mobile service in 49 cities as a precautionary measure.
While talking to the media in Islamabad, he said that he had received some life-threatening communication from unknown numbers but they must keep in mind that “I am not sitting in a hole neither have kept myself secure in some secret place; rather I am along with my people on road and Imambargahs for their security.”
The cities where mobile phone would remain suspended for next two days include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, Multan, Gujranwala, Rahimyar Khan, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang, Nankana, Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Nosheroferoz, Nowshehra, Charsadda, Harripur, Mansehra, Kohat, Mardan, Tank, Bango,DI Khan, Quetta, Kallat, Kohlu and Gilgitbiltistan.
He said that recently he also had received some information from different districts of Punjab and other provinces that security forces have completed their arrangements regarding law and order in the country.And every endeavour of terrorists would be foiled with impenetrable security arrangements, said interior minister.
Furthering his statement, he said that motorcyclists should avoid using motorcycles in next two days as it is best for their security and survival. The masses needed not to be worried about such decisions of the establishment which is taking stern actions for protection of lives and properties of the nation, concluded Malik.
Earlier, mobile phone services have been suspended till evening in Quetta and Karachi amid terror threats.
