During a telephone call, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and Prime Minister Ashraf discussed the situation in Gaza.
The Egyptian president called on Pakistan to lend its support to the issue if it is brought up in the UN Security Council.
Prime Minister Ashraf said has said that Israeli air strikes on Gaza were an open violation of international law and Pakistan condemns such anti-human activities in any sense.
He further said peace in the Middle East was not possible without resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The prime minister also assured that Pakistan would stand by its brother country in the hour of trouble and trial.
