Summary PM Raja Parvez Ashraf on Wednesday voiced concerns over the ongoing spate of violence in Karachi.

 

In his opening remarks at the Federal Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister voiced concerns over the ongoing spate of violence in Karachi and directed the law enforcing agencies to take all possible measures for improvement of law and order in the city. He said miscreants are trying to create Sectarian strife in Karachi.

 

The PM directed the law enforcing agencies of all provinces to beef up security arrangements and evolve a mechanism to maintain peace and harmony during the holy month of Moharramul Haraam.

 

He said the federal government would extend all possible assistance to the Provincial governments in this regard.

 

Condemning the suicide attack on Rangers Headquarters in Karachi‚ the cabinet expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in this cowardly act of terrorism.

 

The Federal Cabinet congratulated President Barack Obama on his re-election as the President of the United States for a second term.

 

Raja Parvez Ashraf said Pakistan and United States have common bilateral interests and shared regional objectives of peace‚ security and stability.
