Summary US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson called on President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday.
President Zardari while welcoming Richard Oslon expressed the hope that during his tenure the ambassador would further strengthen Pak-US relations. The President also hosted lunch for the Ambassador.
Meanwhile‚ a spokesperson of US Embassy said matters of bilateral and regional importance came under discussion during the meeting.
Ambassador Olson thanked the President for his congratulations on the recent US elections and expressed his belief that the transition from one democratically elected government to another following Pakistan s own elections next year will be a significant milestone.
The spokesperson said Ambassador Olson looks forward to working with the President and other members of his government to strengthen the US-Pakistan relationship‚ identify shared interests‚ and act on them jointly.
