Peshawar: Blast at Officers Colony, 1 killed, 10 injured

At least 1 killed and 10 injured in a car bomb blast at Officers Colony Peshawar, Dunya News reported Thursday.The blast was so powerful it jolted nearby buildings and smashed windowpanes. According to sources, some 70 to 80 kg explosives were planted in a car parked in the area. According to initial reports the blast occurred near house of Deputy Secretary Home Department. The colony houses the employees of the provincial secretariat. CCPO Peshawar told that a remote control bomb was used for the blast, adding that terrorists had started victimizing innocent citizens. Emergency has been imposed in Lady Reading Hospital and Police has cordoned off the area. More casualties are feared.
