Pakistan a safe country for sports: Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari has met with International Hockey Federation (IHF) President and European Hockey Federation (EHF) Secretary in Islamabad on Wednesday. The President said that Pakistan is a safe country for sports. Talking to IHF President Leandro Negre and EHF Secretary David Balbernie, President Zardari said that International Hockey Federation has played an important role for the promotion of games in all over the world. He said that the government has established academies for the promotion of the national game. Sports Minister Aftab Shah Jilani, President Hockey Federation Qasim Zia, Secretary General Asif Bajwa and other officials of the Sports Ministry were also present in the meeting. The President directed the Hockey Federation to arrange hockey tournaments in the country. Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad also called on the president. Both the leaders discussed law and order situation and ongoing development projects in the province.
