The eighth session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is underway in the China's capital Beijing. China and the member countries head of states are attending the session while Pakistani delegation is led by the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. Pakistan is an honorary member of the organization and has tendered application to become its permanent member. Sources revealed that Pakistan will get aid in the sectors of energy and other economic projects through this forum. The PM will meet Chinese investors, leaders of other countries and important heads of the banking sector today. Dunya News Anchorperson Asma Chaudhary from Beijing told Dunya News the Prime Minister demanded that Pakistan should be given a permanent membership of the organization. The PM in his address at the SCO session said that terrorism was the biggest point of the region, adding that the member countries of the organization, with their joint efforts, should devise a vision to maintain sustainable peace. The PM also talked about the free trade between the member countries. He urged the organization to help Pakistan in facing the problem of terrorism. Later, the PM also called on Uzbek Prime Minister and discussed the issues of mutual interest.
