Summary National Accountability Bureau has summoned 3 retired generals Thursday in railways land sale case.

NAB has summoned Lt. General (r) Javed Ashraf Qazi‚ Lt. General (r) Saeeduz Zafar and Major General (r) Hassan Butt to record their statements in the probe regarding the sale of 141 acres of prime Railways land to Royal Palm Golf Club on throwaway price in 2001.The then minister for railways, Lt-Gen (r) Javed Ashraf Qazi, along with Secretary and Chairman of the Pakistan Railways, Lt-Gen Saeeduz Zafar, and General Manager Maj-Gen Hamid Hassan Butt had been held responsible for manipulating the deal to the loss of Pakistan Railways.According to findings of a special parliamentary committee, Pakistan Railways suffered a loss of Rs25 billion as a result of the transfer of land.Sources told this news agency that after clear directives of Public Accounts Committee and National Assembly Standing for Railways Chairman NAB Admiral (r) Fasih Bukhari has decided to probe the Railways land scandal.Sources said that after the statements of the three retired generals are recorded NAB would expand the net of its investigation.
