Summary A rental power plant, which was lying idle since two years, has been returned to respective company.
The redundant Karkay power plant had been imported by government two years back, with the claim that it would produce 232 MW but it could generate only 30 MW power. Ultimately, after two years, this power plant based in a ship has been returned.This rental power plant caused loss of millions of dollars to the national coffers as it failed to function to its full capacity during the entire period in Pakistan.As per NAB spokesman, Karkey Company will pay 20 million dollars to Pakistan which will be received within a few days.
