Summary
Attorney General (AG) Latif Khosa has been appointed as an advisor to the Prime Minister after being removed from his earlier office, reported Dunya News. It is not yet clear that in which field Khosa will assist the PM and what will be his official designation. The post of PMs advisor is a constitutional office. As soon as Khosa takes oath as advisor to the PM, his charge from the AG office will relinquish. Sources revealed that AGP represented the government in the SC in last few public interest cases and in most of them the ruling came against the government. On the basis of these reasons, the need to change AG was being felt. The appointment of the new AG will be made after the summary is forwarded.
