.National Assembly Sub committee on Railway has expressed annoyance over non initiation of action against those involved in stealing and selling railway scrap and uprooting 27-kilometer railway track in Shahdad Kot.Committee met here Monday under its convener Ramesh Lal in Ministry of Railway. Senior officials of railway and members of committee attended the meeting. Committee reviewed matter of railway land allotment in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Kanmbar and Shahdad Kot.Committee directed DS Sukkar to fix responsibility in railway scrap theft case and ensure recovery of cost of stolen scrap is made and the accused persons are brought to justice.Convener committee regretted that railway authorities do not attach importance to committee saying as to why privilege motion be not tabled against GM operation railway in national assembly.DS Sukkur Sardar Ahmad Sheikh told the committee provincial minister Nadir Magsi had occupied 140 acres land of railway and Chandio family had occupied 106 acre land.It was not possible for railway authorities to recover illegally occupied land from their possession, he added.Operator of DPO was involved in the theft of railway track at Shahdad Kot and local police does not cooperate with the railway in this respect, he stated.Committee expressed dissatisfaction over briefing given by the DS Railway.
