Debate on Kerry-Lugar Bill held in the Senate in which PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar said that aid is a good thing but its terms could not be accepted. Cabinet Chairman Farooq H Naek presided over the session. Starting the debate on Kerry-Lugar Bill, Ishaq Dar said that Mark Seagel, lobbyer on Kerry-Lugar Bill, remained unsuccessful and Pakistan spent a lot of money on him. He said that sons of Ziaul Haq did not cry a lot at his death as compared to so-called champion of democracy Hussain Haqqani. He said that this bill is a practice to impose more sanctions on Pakistan. JUIs Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani said that Kerry-Lugar Bill has been prepared keeping in mind our weaknesses. It is better to make Pakistan 53rd state of the US instead of accepting the terms of this bill, he maintained. Few Senate Members protested the bonus of Rs 130 million given to National Bank President Syed Muhammad Ali Raza during the period of last eight years. The Chairman Farooq Naek directed the standing committee concerned to look into the matter.
