Brushing aside the apprehensions on Kerry-Lugar Bill, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi Friday said that national interests would be protected and we will never compromise on our sovereignty. Responding to a point of order in the National Assembly, he said the government will not allow anybody micro-management of our affairs and to cast an eye on our nuclear programme. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the government has very broad principles on its nuclear program and we shall not compromise on it. Our government will never surrender our sovereignty. We shall make decisions in national interest, he assured the House. On the other hand, Javed Hashmi of PML-N said that our point of view on the bill is like a fearful child. Answering a question, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that five Pakistanis Amir Ali Baloch, Khan Majid, Abdur Raheem Abdur Rabbani, Muhammad Ghulam Ahmad and Saifullah Parcha are detained at Guantanamo Bay. He said that Dr. Afia was not interrogated disgracefully. The Foreign Minister said that US officials did not inform about the missing children of Dr. Afia. National Assemblys next session will be held on Monday evening.
