Summary 50 Ulema of Sunni Itehad Council have decreed attack on Malala un-Islamic, against Sharia.

In a statement they said attackers have evolved their own interpretation of Islamic Sharia.They said Islam promotes knowledge and is against ignorance, adding Islam does not bar women education.“Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH compared the sanctity of the life of Muslim to the sanctity of Khana Kaba, and said murder of one person was equivalent to murder of whole humanity.”The decree says those attacked Malala trampled the values of Islam and wanted to spread unrest in the society.Islam does not allow killing of women even during the war and in case of conversion to another religion.The Ulema also said suicide attacks were haram.“Beard and turban have become symbols of terrorism due to actions of some groups,” they said.However, the Ulema urged government to change its pro-American policies.Meanwhile, talking to Dunya News General Secretary Wafaqul Madars Qari Hanif Jalandhri said those who attacked Malala are not Muslims. He urged upon Ulema to condemn the attack and also pray for the health of Malala in Friday prayers.
