Summary Foreign Office spokesman has declined to verify that the persons who attacked Malala were Afghans.
During the weekly briefing to newsmen in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesman Moazzam Ahmad Khan said that Malala Yusafzai was an asset of the nation.He said several countries including the US and UK condemned the attack on Malala.Moazzam refused to verify that the terrorists who attacked Malala were Afhan nationals.Regarding Pak-India relations‚ the Foreign Office spokesman said both the countries are capable enough to address their issues bilaterally.He said there is mutual desire of Pakistan and India to resolve all outstanding issues including Kashmir.The spokesman said if Russia‚ the US or China are willing to play their role to address the issues between Pakistan and India‚ they are welcomed.When asked about new dates for the visit of Russian President‚ he said Russian President Vladimir Putin in a letter to President Zardari had expressed his keenness to have a summit level meeting with President Zardari soon. Both the countries are working on new dates. However no date has yet been finalized.To a question regarding Syria-Turkey tension‚ the spokesman said Pakistan has condemned the Syrian shelling into Turkey. He hoped that Syrian government will take action to avert such incidents in future.
