Summary Electricity tariff likely to be decreased by 4 paisas per unit.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hear a case regarding cut in electricity tariff on Wednesday. The NEPRA said that reduction in tariff would be made in terms of fuel adjustment.The sources said that the expected decrease in tariff is due to increase in hydel power production.According to NEPRA, the cost of electricity produced by diesel remained at Rs 19 per unit, hydel power at 8 paisas per unit in August. While the country purchased electricity from Iran at Rs 9.50 per unit.
