Flood wreaked havoc in Dera Ghazi Khan, half of the city submerged under flood water.

Flood water entered Dera Ghazi Khan after breach occurred in DG Khan Canal. According to sources, half of the city submerged under flood water.According to details, western parts of Dera Ghazi Khan, including Sadiqabad, Abdullah Town, Bhata Colony, Railway Colony and Gadai were badly affected by the flood. Flood water also entered in Police Line, District Bar and Central Jail.Residents of low-lying areas faced difficulties after the accumulation of two to three feet of water in the area.Thousands of residents started to move to safer places. The residents also staged protest against delay in rescue operation in their areas.The District Hospital was also evacuated after flood water entered the hospital. The patients were shifted to other nearby hospitals.Dera Ghazi Khan is also facing shortage of food after land routes with Balochistan were disconnected due to flood.Meanwhile, four relief camps have been set up in the city and the flood-affectees are being shifted to these camps.Director PDM, Khalid Sher Dil, has said that the flood situation is being monitored efforts are being made to speed up the relief work while officials of Irrigation Department are working to fill the breach.Meanwhile, a breach also occurred in Qutab Canal and water entered District Jail Rajinpur, The canal water is also heading towards the city.
