Pak has important role in war on terror: Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterated that Pakistan was a front line state in war on terror, adding that the aid under the Kerry-Lugar Bill would be provided to Pakistan soon. He was talking to journalists at Multan airport on Thursday before his departure for the federal capital after three-day visit to his home city. PM Gilani underlined the need for settlement of Kashmir issue, saying it is necessary for lasting peace in the region. He said that Kashmir and water issues would be discussed during the talks with India. The prime minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari would discuss issues, including Swat operation and subsequent rehabilitation of the area, during talks with US President Barack Obama and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown at the Friends of Democratic Pakistan (FoDP) meeting.
