Former finance advisor Salman Shah said Thursday that international community wanted to help Pakistan but the national institutions need to be free of corruption to ensure the benefits reach the public. Talking to Dunya News he said that the world wanted to support Pakistan to strengthen the war on terror. He urged international donors to ensure that the aid should benefit the people of Pakistan, adding that the system of check and balance was not good in Pakistan and corruption was expected in the use of aid. The aid would be accompanied by conditions for audit if it was provided through Pakistani institutes. Salman Shah demanded that the internal control should be improved and made transparent, adding that transparency should also be ensured in Pakistans infrastructure, employment for the public and spending on health and education.
