Summary FPSC Chairman Rana Bhagwandas has urged Pakistanis to strive for peace, amity and tolerance.
He expressed these views in the ceremony for the release of a booklet titled, “Sufi Shah Inayat- a symbol of Interfaith harmony and civil liberties” compiled by Dr. Khadim Hussain.He underscored the need to promote the ‘humanity rearing and caring message’ of these Sufi saints to fight off the obscurantist forces of fundamentalism and extremism that are gnawing at the roots of our society.“We must promote the message of love, peace and universal brotherhood of these Sufi saints,” he emphasized.On the occasion, the founder of Sindh Sufi Institute, Dr Soomro said that like all Sufis of Indus valley, Sufi Shah Inayat also promoted peace, love and tolerance and it was he who pioneered the idea of ‘commune’ in Sindh much before the European world.Naseer Memon of SPO said Sufi Shah Inayat Shaheed wasn’t a hermit, he fought for the rights of his people and led them in rebellion against the rulers.Hashim Abro said Sufi Shah Inayat teaches us to be united against civil injustice. He calls to speak for the weak,Fazaullah Qureshi, former Federal Secretary, Planning Division, projected Sufi Shah Inayat as an economist and humanity emancipator and said that Sindh had always resisted against the evil forces and rulers and this Sufi saint was a classic example of it.Professor Khurram Qadir spoke about the Sufi tradition in the land of Sindh, with particular reference to the role of Sufi Shah Inayat.
