Summary Fourteen youth from Chitral who had gone to Afghanistan to join Afghan Army have returned Pakistan.

The men, belonging to Banburat and Ramboor areas, produced themselves before the district coordination officer (DCO) of Chitral and said that they had decided to join the army due to poverty.According to district officials, around 18-20 youngsters are still working in Afghanistan and have been given a one-month deadline to return voluntarily.Earlier, media reports claimed that a large number of young people in Chitral were joining the Afghan National Army, and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Home and Tribal affairs department had taken notice of the information.
