The Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (R.A) is being observed across the Muslim World with traditional respect and fervor today. Majalis-e-aza and mourning processions are being held across the country to mark the day. Mourners will participate in huge numbers in mourning procession being taken out in all big cities including Karachi, Peshawar and Lahore. Hazrat Ali participated in all wars and Ghazwas except Ghazwa-e-Tabook. Holy Prophet (PBUH) wedded her daughter Hazart Fatima to Hazarat Ali and appointed him as his successor. On 19 Ramazan, Hazrat Ali came to the mosque in Kufa, Iraq, for his morning prayers and gave the call for prayers and started leading the congregation. Abdur Rehman ibne Muljim, pretending to pray, stood just behind him, and when Hazrat Ali (AS) was in a state of prostration, Muljim dealt a heavy stroke with his sword, inflicting a deep wound on Hazrat Alis head. Prophet Muhammad had already prophesied Hazrat Ali (AS)s assassination. The Holy Prophet had said, O Ali I see before my eyes your beard dyed with your blood. Hazart Alis mausoleum is in Najaf where thousand of visitors go daily.
