A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry hearted a case regarding continued occupation of Rawalpindi Medical College’s girls hostel by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).NAB’s counsel informed the apex court that the bureau’s offices had been shifted to Islamabad and the NAB courts would be shifted to judicial complex during the current month. The court ordered NAB to pay the rent to hostel’s management.The hostel was occupied by NAB back in 1999, forcing some 2,000 students to live in private apartments outside the college.NAB’s attorney claimed that alternative accommodation was provided to the students, but a number of female students contested this claim and said that they were living in rented buildings far away from the college.
