Summary

President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the world would face difficulties in war against terror if the international community did not provide the aid promised to Pakistan. He rejected US President Barack Obamas Pak-Afghan Policy. President Zardari believed that Pakistan and Afghanistan had entirely different circumstances and both could not be treated alike. In an interview with American newspaper Financial Times the President demanded separate policy for Pakistan and Afghanistan. Afghanistan and Pakistan are distinctly different countries and cannot be lumped together for any reason, Zardari said. He maintained that Pakistan faced security issues on internal front. The President stressed the need to improve economy immediately so that more and more employment opportunities could be generated. Pakistan has very less time. The government will have to cut down development projects and social sector funds if the international community doesnt provide the promised aid in next few months. This will have horrific impacts on War on Terror, the President warned. Dunya News talked to noted analyst Dr Hasan Askari for his comments on the statements by President Zardari and US Department of Defense. Dr Askari maintained that American troops were dejected and demoralized in Afghanistan. America will have to come back on negotiations, he opined.
