Summary PAC has ordered to launch inquiry against four former generals who got LGP quota.
The session of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was chaired by Nadeem Afzal in Islamabad on Wednesday.The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials briefed the committee that it received a share of 30 percent on recovering of looted money under the recovery and reward law.The NAB officials told that they had received a total of 1.6 billion rupees from government so far. However, it was not given any share since 2008.One of the members of the committee, Khawaja Asif, said that police and audit officials also recover looted money but do not get any share, adding that a uniform policy should be made for all departments.Expressing displeasure over NAB for receiving payments of Rs 10.3 million for anti-corruption campaign, the committee directed the officials to audit the amount received by NAB under the head of donation and reward.NAB Chairman Fasih Bukhari told the committee that an amount of 60.5 million rupees received as a reward was distributed among two thousand employees of NAB.Khawaja Asif said that former NAB Chairman Khalid Maqbool took a loan of two billion rupees but never returned.Another former NAB chairman Munir Hafeez along with general Saeed Muzaffar and general Moeenuddin Haider got LPG quotas.The committee directed to launch inquiry against the corruption allegations against four former generals.During the session, Chairman NAB Faseeh Bukhari assured to present the investigation report over the allegations in a month-time.
