Justice Sharif murder plan: inquiry report awaits exhibition

Government has failed to open investigation report of ex-LHC CJ Khawaja Sharifs murder conspiracy.

In 2010, a secret report was dispatched to the Punjab government that plan for murder of ex-Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif has been prepared. After dissemination of secret report, law enforcement agencies got perturbed over this news that which forces were backing the conspiracy.Later, a three-member judicial commission led by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Esa Faez had been formed. The commission comprising Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Iqbal Hamidur Rehman and Justice Imtiz started to probe into the matter. Special Branch Additional IG Col (r) Ihsan Ilahi, Director Special Branch Shahid Mehmood and other high officials recorded their statements.According to sources, the commission dispatched its inquiry report to the Federal and Provincial Governments but that could not be made public till now.
