Pakistans 44th Defense Day is being observed with traditional fervor and zest across the country today. Forty four years ago the enemy attacked the motherland in dark like cowards and had to face a humiliating defeat. The day started with special prayers for the countrys integrity and Holy Qurans recitation in mosques. President Asif Ali Zardari in his DD message vowed to fail all the nefarious aims of the enemy. Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani maintained that army was ever determined to face and defeat the enemy. A ceremony of changing gauds on the tombs of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal also took place in Karachi and Lahore respectively. Artillery demonstrations were made in provincial and federal capitals to mark the day. An exhibition of Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Forces arms is organized in Rawalpindi and Islamabad while a ceremony is also planned at Chaklala Airbase.
