Summary IG Gilgit Baltistan Hussain Asghar suspended for not appearing before bench despite court orders.
A three-member bench headed by chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing into hajj corruption case.During the proceeding, the notification of IG Gilgit Baltistan Hussain Asghar’s suspension was presented before the bench after which the hearing was adjourned till indefinite period.Earlier, PM Raja directed to launch an inquiry against Hussain Asghar for not complying with court orders on which the establishment division suspended him on Thursday.It is significant to mention that Supreme Court ordered to reappoint Hussain Asghar as head of hajj investigation team. However, Hussain Asghar didn’t follow court orders and remained absent from proceedings.
