Summary Ex-prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that there is no compromise on principles.
Talking to the media in Multan, he said that he was asked to commit illegal act but he refused to follow the order. He could not be removed from his office by legal procedure, he said.He said that he appeared before the court three times but did not compromise over fundamental principles. It is first time in the history of Pakistan that parliament unanimously elected the prime minister, he said.He said that he sacrificed premiership and came to the people for uplift of their rights.While commenting current political situation, he said that the PPP already enjoys majority in the Senate; half of the government has been formed while the rest would be won with the support of the people.He made it clear that general polls would be held in time; no party would be able to win decisive victory in elections; therefore the government would consist of coalition partners.
