Baby death case: Doctors remanded to judicial custody

The four doctors allegedly involved in a childs death case were on Monday remanded in judicial custody for 14 days by a judicial magistrate in Lahore.An infant, Fahad, who was under treatment at Mayo hospital died as the doctors did not attend him in protest against recent police crackdown.Judicial Magistrate Naqeeb Shehzad is hearing the case registered by child’s father.The police today produced four doctors including Adil, Usman, Matloob and Tajammul before the court after completion of their physical remand.The police instead of seeking extension in physical remand asked the court to send the doctors to jail, saying that no additional investigation is required in the case.Later, the court remanded the doctors to judicial custody for 14 days.
