The Defence Pakistan Council (DPC) has announced to hold a historic long march from Lahore to Islamabad against the reopening of NATO supply route.The long march included members of the council along with workers of other political and religious parties.On Sunday morning, the religious leaders gathered at Masjid-e-Shuhada and offered prayer (nawafil).The group began its protest in the center of Lahore, where several thousand supporters assembled with dozens of buses, cars and motorbikes.They plan to link up with thousands more supporters on the citys edge and ride to Islamabad in a long march against the supply line.Addressing the rally, Hafiz Saeed said that the long march will bring the nation back to the ideology on which Pakistan was made.The rally will reach Gujrat through G.T. Road tonight and will leave for Islamabad tomorrow.The long march is being carried out under the leadership of DPC chairman Samilul Haq.
