Foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar held an important one-on-one meeting with US secretary of state Hillary Clinton during the international conference on Afghanistan in Japan’s capital Tokyo.During the meeting, both leaders discussed relations between Pakistan and United States.U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton expressed hope that Pakistans reopening of NATO supply lines into Afghanistan will lead to better U.S.-Pakistani relations.Clinton told reporters both were encouraged by last weeks agreement. Clintons apology for NATOs November killing of 24 Pakistani soldiers ended Pakistans seven-month freeze on the supply routes.Clinton said the U.S. and Pakistan want to build on the momentum with greater counterterrorism and economic cooperation. She says she also discussed stalled Afghan reconciliation efforts with Khar.Clinton spoke in Tokyo after attending a 70-nation Afghan aid conference. She, Khar and Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul will hold a three-way meeting later Sunday.Hina Rabbani accepted Hillary Clinton’s invitation to visit United States.
