Summary The Sindh High Court has rejected a petition challenging the appointment of Deputy PM.
A two-member bench of the Singh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday heard a petition regarding Deputy Prime Minister’s appointment.The court observed that there was no restriction in the Constitution to appoint a Deputy PM, adding that the prime minister could appoint anyone as his assistant.The court said that notification regarding Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahis appointment as Deputy PM also stated that he could not exercise PMs powers.Therefore, the notification could not be declared null and void, the court added.
