A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case pertaining to the parliamentarians holding dual nationalities.Senior adviser to PM, Rehman Malik, failed to provide certificate subjecting to his cancellation of British citizenship.During the proceedings, Anwar Mansoor, counsel of Rehman Malik, presented the copies of other documents trying to prove his clients renouncement of British nationality including Pakistani passport.Justice Jawad S Khawaja said that the bench had reservations over the documents submitted by Malik.In response to a question, Maliks lawyer maintained that his client filed an application for cancellation of his UK citizenship on April 27, 2008. Chief justice asked the counsel to provide a copy of the aforementioned application, adding that he wasn’t dealing with a case of an ordinary person.He told him he can seek help of Pakistan High Commissioner to get a duplicate.The case has been adjourned till July 3.
