The two member bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Ijaz Asghar and Justice Athar Saeed resumed hearing of Babar Awan case on Wednesday.During proceeding exchange of harsh words took place between accused Dr Babar Awan and Justice Athar Saeed on which the court instructed former federal minister Dr Babar Awan to mend his behavior in the court by keeping the decorum in view.Babar Awan was present in the court alongwith his counsel Ali Zafar. In the court room, instead of his lawyer, Awan directly articulated the bench to stop his media trial as he is still a parliamentarian and court is carrying out one sided proceeding against him without listening to his lawyers.On which Justice Athar Saeed asked Babar Awan to let his lawyer speak but he replied that he has made his mind that he would fight his own case. “I would not flee from the case. The case has been going on since long but it was not told that whether it is a criminal case or civil case.Justice Ijaz Afzal said on the occasion that Babar Awan is a senior lawyer and the court would hear his viewpoint.Justice Azhar Saeed said that Awan should not dictate the court. In the court room Awan told his lawyer that he does not need his services as he would defend himself, on which Ali Zafar returned the power of attorney to him and left the case.The SC issued notice to AGP for appearance in the court as prosecutor in Babar Awan contempt case. The court adjourned the hearing till July 2, 2012.
