Summary The Punjab government has chalked out a plan to tackle floods during the upcoming monsoon.
The Met Office has predicted early monsoon and warned of floods during the season.A high level meeting headed by Zulfiqar Khosa, Adviser to Punjab CM, was held to discuss the upcoming monsoon and tackle any expected flood.The meeting was briefed that the flood warning centre had been make functional since June 15.Zulfiqar Khosa said that the finance department had released Rs 50 million to PDMA for the flood affected people.He said 850 boats have been provided to 14 districts and Rescue 1122 while 882 boats and other important facilities have been provided OPMS.
