Summary The federal government has refused to shift Dr Shakeel Afridi to Karachi central Jail.
Doctor Shakeel Afridi was awarded life term by the tribal court for providing assistance to USA in the Abbottabad operation in which US marine force killed Al Qaida leader Osama Bin laden last year.The provincial government has submitted its application requesting the federal government that Dr Shakeel might be shifted to Karachi on security reasons as there were some threats of terrorist attack on Peshawar jail.It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab government had also refused to shift Dr Shakeel in Adiala Jail. Now the federal government has also denied for shifting him to Karachi.
