A special high-level meeting held under the chair of PM Yousaf Raza Gilani to review the energy crisis. The meeting decided to enhance power production to 13‚500 MW in next ten days by providing 207 MMCF gas to the power sector. The meeting also decided to improve fuel supply to power plants and directed the Finance Ministry to provide adequate funds.The meeting was informed that a project of installation of 4000MW solar power tube wells with 50 percent subsidy in the provinces and 100 percent in Balochistan would start from July 1. Under the project a subsidy of Rs 13 billion and 8 billion respectively would be disbursed for the project.The meeting was attended by Ministers for Water and Power‚ Information‚ Petroleum‚ Finance and Kashmir Affairs‚ besides the Advisor on Interior and Deputy Chairman Planning Commission.
