Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Monday said that allegations of creating Jinnahpur conspiracy on MQM has been proved fallacious after the admission by two retired army officers, adding the 1992 army operation against MQM was wrong. He urged Nawaz Sharif to answer the nation why he did not stop the operation against MQM. Addressing through a live video conference broadcasted in various cities of Pakistan from London, Altaf Hussain thanked General (R) Naseer Akhtar and Brigadier (R) Imtiaz Ahmad for revealing that no map of Jinnahpur was recovered from the MQM office and this was nothing but a farce. He said that fifteen thousand persons including his brother and nephew were killed during 1992 operation, adding that operation was conducted during Nawaz Sharifs regime; he should tell the nation why he did not stop the army operation. Altaf Hussain demanded Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to constitute a commission for investigation of the issue, adding both the retired army officers should be summoned and asked about the truth. The MQM chief claimed that his party would have been the largest power in the country today, had that operation not been conducted.
