Summary Opposition leader of Punjab Assembly says Chief Justice should distance himself from Supreme Court.
Addressing the provincial assembly, Raja Riaz said although Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s stepping down from the bench, hearing the suo motu notice involving Arsalan Iftikhar, was a good gesture but he should distance himself from the Supreme Court as all the judges are subordinate to him.He said that if provincial budget fails to provide relief to the people, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will register protest.Riaz said that his party respects the sanctity of the courts and leaders from PPP reverently appeared before the Supreme Court on three different occasions.
