Summary President says Pakistan wants full membership of the SCO for achievement of common goals of peace.
President Asif Ali Zardari has urged the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation to enhance its role for maintaining peace in the region.Addressing the SCO summit in the Great Hall of People in Beijing on Thursday morning‚ he said Pakistan wants to strengthen cooperation with the Organisation in every sector.The President said there already exist economic and political links among member countries of the Organisation.He said Pakistan wants to play an active role for peace and prosperity in the region and the SCO can use Pakistanis Highways for trade among the member countries.President Zardari congratulated Afghanistan over having the observer status in the Organisation. He said peace in Afghanistan can not be achieved by using military means.He said Pakistan wants stronger ties with SCO.
