Summary Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Dictators amended constitution to prolong the rule.

Addressing the farewell dinner in honour of former Chairman Senate Farook Naek and Deputy Chairman Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, Prime Minister Gilani said that he has spent imprisonment equalling the life term for giving employment to the needy but still he would not like to repeat the mistakes of the past. He reminded ‘others’ without naming them that they too have suffered a lot and for the reason they should be careful and avoid committing old mistakes. He said that he believes in smooth transition in all respects in all departments.The change of the chief justice on the fateful night of March 2009 was done by him after thorough deliberations. ‘I didn’t want to instal the new chief justice in place of Justice Dogar through Rangers personnel and after awakening whole night announced in the wee hours of the next morning that new Chief Justice will take over after the retirement of the incumbent.’
