Summary Pakistan enters in a multifaceted strategic dialogue with EU, the foreign minister said.
Addressing a joint briefing with European Unionsforeign policy chief Catherine Ashton in Islamabad‚ Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said that the European Union is strong supporter of a democratic set up in Pakistan.The foreign minister said Pakistan has entered in a multi-faceted strategic dialogue with the European Union on socio-economic development‚ investment‚ health and education sectors.She said Pakistans exports to the European Union stood at 4.6 billion euros while imports 3.7 billion euros during the current fiscal year. She said under the three year development plan‚ the European Union is giving Pakistan 225 million euros for the socio-economic uplift. The amount is being spent for the development projects especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and Punjab provinces.Khar said also said that we are close to implement the preferential trade agreement and Pakistani products will get GSP Plus status into the EU markets.
