The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has increased electricity tariff by Rs1.97 per unit under fuel adjustment plan for April 2012.Authorities of the Central Power Purchasing Agency acknowledged NEPRA that electricity general remained low during last month (April 2012), and the hike in gas prices increased the electricity tariff by 60 paisas per unit surging the average cost of electricity by Rs 2 per unit.NEPRA slashed 3 paisas from CPPA’s proposal for line losses and supplement charges and approved raise in power tariff by Rs 1.97 per unit which will be applicable for the month of November, 2012 after approval by Ministry for Water and Power.
